Deadlines

The residency process must be completed by the appropriate deadline to ensure your tuition and financial aid eligibility are applied correctly. Processing may take several days, so early submission is strongly encouraged.

KNOW YOUR DEADLINES

Residency must be completed by the deadline associated with your term of enrollment. 

Key considerations:

  • Deadlines align with academic terms (Fall, Spring, Summer)
  • Submitting after the deadline will result in out-of-state tuition charges
  • Processing is not immediate, it is important to plan ahead to allow time for review

If additional documentation is requested by RDS, it must be submitted by their stated deadline.

Upcoming DEADLINES

To be eligible for in-state tuition for: Effective Decision Date must be on or before:
Summer 2026 (First half term and Full term)Fri., May 22, 2026

*Please note that the Summer (Second Half Term) RDS Effective Decision Date / deadline applies only to those students who are Newly Admitted for the Summer Second Half Term.

PLAN AHEAD

We encourage you to plan ahead to avoid delays and meet the deadline for your starting term. All steps must be finished by the deadline for your status to be applied for that term.

If you miss the deadline for your starting term: your tuition will be assessed at the out-of-state rate for that term and you will be classified as in-state for the next immediate term.
